Schull West Cork
If you are experienced you have the whole of
Roaring Water Bay and all its islands.
If you are a recreational paddler with a
Day Tourer or Sit On Top just paddle around the
harbour - fabulous stuff. |
|
Crookhaven West Cork
Crookhaven is a flatfish and recreational paddling heaven. O'Sullivans is the best bar in the whole of O'Sullivans and Crookhaven and the rest of the known world.
The paddling is superb for novice to advanced - novice paddlers should not attempt Fastnet! |
|
Crookhaven to Goleen from Brow Head
A great little paddle from Goleen Harbour:
West to Crookhaven
East to Toomore Bay
A rugged coastline, well protected from winds from the
West to North East.
|
|
Glandore
On the east side of Glandore with Union Hall on the west side of the estuary.
The village of Glandore is rightly acclaimed to be one of the prettiest villages in ireland. |
|
Union Hall
A stunning estuary heaving with fish and birds.
Out of season paddling and winter bird watching at its best.
Paddle upstream towards Leap then downstream to Glandore harbour then back to Union Hall .
Union Hall is a pretty village with good services. |
|
Barley Cove Mizzen Head
After paddling around Barley Cove the Boss decided it was time to relax with some fishing under Gorran Beg. |
|
Kilcrohane Pier - Sheeps Head
There are so many places to start paddling from in Dunmanus
Bay, anKilcrohane is one of the best .
Another nice paddle for the wandering Waikiki. |
|
Durrus - Dunmanus Bay -Sheeps Head
Take the Sheep's head road out of Durrus.
This is the head of Dunmanus Bay, paddle from the pier or any section of beach - loads to choose from.
Durrus has a few nice shops and bars to take on provisions.
During the summer, spoil yourself with a trip to the
Good Things Cafe!

|
Toomore Strand West Cork
Toomore Bay is another very pleasant paddle.
Well sheltered when the wind is in the North and a few fish to BBQ on the beach at the end of the day. |
|
Bantry Bay
The worlds second largest natural harbour (after Sydney)
35 km long with a North and South coast.
Sheltered in the East and testing in the West.
So much paddling to be done in Bantry Bay! |
|
Reen Pier Bantry Bay on the Sheeps Head
Typical get in and get out on Bantry Bay.
Just about every weather option is covered with a short drive and a safe place to get on to the water! |
|
Eagle Point Camping Ballylickey Bantry Bay
We fully recommend Eagle Point Camping
lovely place and lovely people.
www.eaglepointcamping.com
A stones throw from Bantry Bay Canoes and a
great spot to paddle. |
|
Glengarriff - Bantry Bay
Has to be one of the prettiest paddling spots in the country, and make the most of the excellent shelter here also.
There is a seal sanctuary here, but please give the seals some room to rest. They prefer to follow you, than to feel intimidated!
Dolphins, whales & sea otters visit Glengarriff and there is excellent bird watching - again please do not get so close
as to disturb the wildlife. |
|
Castletownbere - Beara Peninsula
Am surely prejudiced, but Beara is hard to beat for natural beauty in West Cork. And lovely as it is to see from the road, it's truly spectacular nature is only really revealed from the water.
Enjoy the sheltered inlets of Tralahan, Traneen & Dunboy, or for the more competent, paddle over to Bere Island! |
